Privacy Policy

Effective July 2026. This is the privacy policy for the Storied website (storiedtours.co.uk), the Storied tours (tours.storiedtours.co.uk) and the operator dashboard (app.storiedtours.co.uk).

Storied is a product of The SetUp Crew. We keep this short and plain. We collect as little as possible, we do not sell your data, and you can use the tours without giving us anything personal.

What we collect

Anonymous usage, always. When you open a tour we give your browser a random ID (not linked to your name or email) and record simple moments such as opening a tour, starting to walk, and reaching a stop. This is our own first-party measurement and helps us see whether the tours are working. It contains no personal information.

Analytics, only if you agree. If you accept cookies on the banner, we also use two analytics tools to understand how pages are used so we can improve them:

Google Analytics 4 (Google) for aggregate visitor numbers and page usage.
Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) for anonymised heatmaps and session replays of how people move around the pages. Clarity masks text you type by default, so it is about layout and behaviour, not your personal details.

These load only after you tap Accept. If you choose Essential only, neither runs and no analytics cookies are set. The tour works exactly the same either way.

Your email, only if you ask us to save your progress. If you choose to save a tour, we store your email address for that purpose only. We do not share it and we do not send marketing unless you separately opt in.

If you build tours with us (operators)

If you sign up to create tours, we hold a little more, because we need it to run your account:

Account details such as your name, email address and the organisation you gave at sign-up, so we can set up and support your account.
Payment. When you subscribe, our payment provider Stripe collects and processes your card and billing details. We do not store your full card number, Stripe handles that. We keep a record of your plan and payment status.
What you create such as your tour stops, wording, images and logos, so we can host and publish your tour.
Support and product messages such as emails you send us and any feedback you leave in the dashboard.

We use this to provide the service, take payment, support you, and improve the product. We do not sell it, and you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data at any time (see Your rights, below).

Cookies and similar technology

We use a small amount of local storage on your device to remember your cookie choice and your anonymous tour ID. Analytics cookies from Google and Microsoft are only set if you accept them. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the banner back.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service:

Google (Google Analytics) — privacy
Microsoft (Clarity) — privacy
Supabase — hosting of our data, including anonymous usage and operator accounts
Vercel — website, dashboard and tour hosting
Stripe — payment processing for operator subscriptions — privacy
Anthropic and ElevenLabs — used to draft and voice tour narration from the place details an operator provides

What we do not do

We do not collect your name, payment details or location history on the public tours.
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
We do not use the analytics tools on our operator dashboard, which is kept separate.

How long we keep it

Anonymous usage data is kept while it is useful for improving the tours. Analytics data follows Google's and Microsoft's standard retention. If you saved your progress and want your email removed, just ask.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete any personal data we hold about you. Email team@thesetupcrew.co.uk and we will help. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If we change how we use data we will update this page and, where it matters, ask for your consent again.
