StorieD sits alongside it. Every stop is fully narrated, so visitors can follow the route by listening rather than reading. That opens the walk to people who find a printed leaflet hard to use, including people with sight loss. The tour works when the leaflets run out and the office is closed. Changes take minutes, with nothing to reprint. Put a QR code on the leaflet and it opens the narrated version, and you can see how many people use it, which a printed leaflet cannot tell you. Keep the leaflet, and add the version people can listen to.

You tell StorieD your place and what kind of trail you want. It surfaces local points of interest, drafts the narration, finds photos, and writes three visitor facts for each stop.

You review every word, reorder the route, swap anything that isn't right, and walk the full trail on your own phone before it goes live. Everything stays editable by you at any time. When something changes, you update it yourself in minutes. No developer, no waiting, no extra cost.

Taking this to your council

What does it cost a year?

£590 on the Trail plan paid annually, or £990 on Town. We are not VAT registered yet, so there is no VAT to add. No setup fee, and the first month is free. You can pause over the winter.

Who builds it?

Usually one person who knows the town: a councillor, a volunteer, someone from the local history group or the clerk. StorieD drafts every stop, and they correct it and add what only local people know. Expect to spend an afternoon on it. If you would like a hand, we are happy to help.

Where would sponsor income come from?

A café, pub or shop on the route pays to have a short mention at the stop nearest them. You set the price and keep 80%. We handle the payment, which is what the other 20% covers.

What if we want to stop?

Cancel any time. The tour comes down, your build is kept, and you can publish it again later.

Who's behind StorieD

Mark and Louise, founders of StorieD

We're Mark and Louise. We've been building tools and businesses together for over ten years under The SetUp Crew, and StorieD is one of those things.

We built the first trails for our own home town of Hereford and for Hammersmith, partly because we wanted to walk them ourselves, and partly because cautious buyers reasonably want to see the thing working before they commit.

Louise runs marketing and project management. Mark runs the build. We tell you what it costs, what it does, and what it doesn't do yet. If you want a trail for your place, we'll help you put one live.

Questions you'll probably want answered

Does it have to be a history tour?
No. A StorieD trail can be a history walk, a beer trail, a ghost walk, a kids' trail, an art trail, whatever fits your place. You pick the theme and the stops, and the AI drafts the narration to match.
How much does this actually cost us per year?
Trail is £59/month, Town is £99/month, Destination is £199/month. Annual billing gives you two months free, so Trail works out at £590 a year, Town at £990, and Destination at £1,990. There's no contract and no setup fee. If sponsorship picks up, the plan can pay for itself.
Do visitors have to download an app?
No. They scan a QR code and the trail opens in their phone browser. No account, no download, no install. It works on any modern phone.
Do I have to write the trail myself?
No. The AI drafts every stop from your local points of interest: narration, a photo, and three visitor facts. You review it, reorder it, and tweak anything that isn't right. Expect to spend an afternoon on it before you walk the whole thing on your own phone.
Who else is using it?
The product is live, with published trails in Hereford, Hammersmith and The Arc. You can walk any of them before you decide. We're being honest about where we are: early, working, and looking for the next few places to go live.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime. Your trail unpublishes and your build is kept. If you come back, you pick up where you left off.
