Terms of Service

Effective July 2026. These terms apply to operators who create and publish tours with Storied. For how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.

Storied is a product of The SetUp Crew ("we", "us", "our"). We keep this plain. By creating an account or building a tour, you ("you", "the operator") agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who we are

Storied is operated by The SetUp Crew. You can reach us at team@thesetupcrew.co.uk. If you are entering into these terms on behalf of an organisation (a council, a Business Improvement District, a Tourist Information Centre, a venue, or similar), you confirm you are authorised to do so.

2. What Storied does

Storied lets you build a self-guided, narrated tour of a town, a venue or an event, that visitors follow in their phone browser by scanning a QR code. You tell us the place, we help draft the stops, the narration and the facts, you review and edit everything, and you publish when you are ready. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

3. Your account

• You must give accurate account details and keep them up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for what happens under your account.
• You must be old enough to enter a contract in your country (18 or over in the UK).
• One tour area belongs to one operator. Two different operators may each run a tour of the same town, but you must not impersonate an organisation you do not represent.

4. Free trial, subscriptions and payment

• Billing. Payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us, through Stripe, to charge your chosen plan on a recurring basis until you cancel.
• Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
• No contract. There is no minimum term. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard or by contacting us.
• What cancelling does. When you cancel, your tour is unpublished at the end of the paid period and your build is kept so you can return to it. We may remove archived material after a reasonable period, which we will tell you about.
• Price changes. We may change prices. We will give you reasonable notice before a change affects your next renewal, and you can cancel if you do not accept it.
• Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are not refundable. If something has gone wrong, contact us and we will try to put it right.

5. Your content and the licence you give us

Your tour content is yours. The stops, wording, images, logos and branding you add or approve remain owned by you or your licensors.

To run the service, you give us a licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting, and publicly display and play that content, so we can deliver your tour to visitors and operate, back up and improve the service. This licence lasts while your content is on the platform and for a short period afterwards to allow for backups and archiving.

You confirm that you have the rights to everything you upload or publish (including any images, logos, music and sponsor material), and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

6. Drafted narration and facts

Storied helps you by drafting narration and facts for your stops. These drafts are a starting point. You are responsible for reviewing, correcting and approving every word before you publish. We do not warrant that drafted content is accurate, complete or free of error, and you are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of what you choose to publish.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Storied to publish or do anything that:

• is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or infringes someone's rights;
• is misleading about who you are or who endorses your tour;
• contains malware, or attempts to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service;
• scrapes or resells the platform, or copies it to build a competing product;
• misuses the drafting tools, for example to mass-generate content unrelated to a genuine tour.

We may apply reasonable usage limits to keep the service fair and available for everyone.

8. Sponsors and revenue

If your plan allows sponsor callouts, you manage the relationship with your sponsors, including any money that changes hands with them. Where we operate a revenue share, the current terms are shown in your dashboard. You are responsible for making sure sponsor content is accurate and that you have permission to display it.

9. Our intellectual property

The Storied platform, software, design, the Storied name and logo, and the underlying technology are owned by us. These terms do not give you any right to them beyond using the service as intended. Your own brand and content stay yours.

10. Availability

We work hard to keep Storied running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may carry out maintenance, change features, or withdraw parts of the service. If we make a material change that harms you, you can cancel.

11. Suspension and ending your access

You can stop using Storied at any time by cancelling. We may suspend or end your access, with notice where we reasonably can, if you break these terms, do not pay, or use the service in a way that risks harm to visitors, other operators or us. Where we end your access for a serious breach, published tours may be taken down.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that:

• we provide the service to help you, but we are not liable for the accuracy of content you review and publish, for lost profits or business, or for indirect or consequential loss;
• our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.

You are responsible for your published tour and for complying with any laws that apply to it, including around accessibility, safety on any route you suggest, and the rights of people and places you feature.

13. Data protection

How we handle personal data, both yours as an operator and your visitors', is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make a material change we will let you know by a reasonable method and, where it matters, before it affects you. Continuing to use Storied after a change means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, unless the law of your home country gives you rights that must apply.
